Roman Sokołowski
Roman joined Torus in 2008, instantly assuming the position of chief engineer in the investment department. One of the main areas of his responsibility is to actively supervise external entities in their realization of designing and execution works, as well as of the implementation of low-current installations, i.e. various networks and systems that are necessary for the correct and safe functioning of the building.
These are, among others, SAP, CCTV, BMS, access control, and burglary and assault signalisation systems. Together with his team, he also conducts technical analyses in the stage of building operations, with the aim of optimisation of various systems and appliances, also in terms of minimisation of the energy use.
It is Roman’s goal to incessantly elevate buildings to greater heights of energy efficiency, general security, or comfort. Through the constant market research, following substantive sources, or through the participation in multiple branch conferences, spot verifications, or trade fairs, he is able to pick out curiosities and market novelties. Subsequently, he verifies the technical and economic legitimacy of a particular solution. One of numerous challenges Roman is currently working on, is the search for technological solutions which will make it possible to store heat and electric energy obtained from alternative sources.
Roman began his adventure with engineering and technologies by operating ship engine rooms, while he was also involved in the air-condition/ventilation branch, as well as building automation. He is a graduate of Gdynia Maritime University (Mechanical Faculty, major: Operation of ship engine rooms). Additionally, he upgraded his competences throughout specialist courses related to programming controllers used in building automation.
