The Spanish company’s centres combine the functions of a warehouse, sales network, and showroom, offering a new meeting point for their partners, clients, and architects. Three other locations are already operating in Poland: in Dąbrówka near Poznań, in Parzniew near Warsaw, and in Mysłowice near Katowice. The transaction was brokered by Colliers, a consultancy agency.
Gdynia City Logistics, developed by Torus Logistics in cooperation with BTV, is being built on a post-industrial site that will be transformed into a modern warehouse with a total area of 22,100 m2, including 1,300 square metres of office space. The investment will not only provide new jobs in the area, but also serves as a fitting example of the rational use of brownfield sites.
- As Torus, we are consistently diversifying our business activities, and Gdynia City Logistics is an example of this. The investment, due to its attractive location, specifics, and modern solutions, brings a new quality onto the warehouse space market in Gdynia. I am glad that it has already been recognized by the market, and that this modern facility has attracted its first tenant - says Przemysław Ryś, Torus Deputy Chairman.
- As a Development Manager, we are creating Gdynia City Logistics, a modern warehouse, transforming a brownfield into a dynamic business environment. Our investment does not only answer the market needs, but also serves proof that sustainable development can and should go hand in hand with business efficiency - says Tomasz Puch, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at BTV.
The warehouse is being built just 5 km from the Port of Gdynia, and 9 km from the city centre. The proximity of the Port of Gdynia and planned road connections, such as the Red Road and the Northern Bypass of the Tricity Agglomeration (OPAT), will ensure fast and trouble-free deliveries within the Tricity and beyond, covering the entire country.
The strategically located investment will be equipped with environmentally friendly solutions, such as photovoltaic panels and heat pumps, as well as skylights and LED lighting. The facility will also accommodate bicycle shelters and an outdoor relaxation area with a gym, electric car chargers, flower meadows, insect houses, and beehives. Thanks to the applied solutions, the facility will be certified by the BREEAM method on the rating level of ‘Excellent’.
The handover of the building, with Pekabex as the general contractor, is planned for the beginning of the Q3 of 2024.
